The Papers of Professor Bonnie S. Anderson contain items such as correspondences, interviews, Brooklyn College Class syllabi and rosters, pamphlets, brochures, and student evaluation forms. There are also drafts of Professor Anderson's books and articles, notes and research materials, in addition to a number of boxes that are comprised of copies of 19th century feminist periodicals, not easily found elsewhere. And, finally, there are some personal items such as photographs, birth certificates and diplomas as well as miscellaneous materials.

Bonnie S. Anderson was born May 16, 1943 to Robert B. Sour, a songwriter and music business executive, and his wife Geraldine (Scofield) Sour, an interior decorator. She attended Brown University, received her B.A. (summa cum laude) in 1964 and both an M.A. and Ph. D. from Columbia University. Upon graduation, she became a lecturer at Columbia University in New York City, then a Fordham University instructor. By 1972, she was a history professor at the City University of New York.
